Netflix‘s Not a Stranger drew 9.7 million views worldwide from September 21 to 27, lifting the Turkish thriller to the top of the service’s global non-English TV chart. The series also logged 65.7 million hours viewed during the week, according to Netflix‘s September 29 Top 10 report.

The weekly result marks a sharp rise from the show’s first full week. It ranked second on the same chart for September 14 to 20, with 4.6 million views and 31.1 million hours watched. Netflix‘s figures show its views more than doubled in the following week, while its ranking moved up one place.
What’s on Netflix independently reported the same two-week progression, describing a 111% increase in views and 14.3 million cumulative views across the first two weeks. That total is a short-window figure, not an all-time audience record. Netflix’s chart places Not a Stranger ahead of Plastic Beauty, which had 5.1 million views for September 21 to 27, and The Scandal, at 2.8 million.
Netflix lists Not a Stranger as an eight-episode Turkish drama starring Elçin Sangu, Melis Sezen and Ozan Dolunay. The series follows Funda, a new mother who hires a nanny while trying to return to her painting career. Netflix’s title page identifies Tuğba Doğan as the creator.
The ranking covers Netflix’s global non-English TV category for a single week. It should not be read as the top show across every language or format on the service. Netflix publishes separate English-language TV, film and non-English film lists, so the chart’s category matters when comparing titles.
The verified change is the series’ rise from second place to first in its second week, accompanied by a gain of 5.1 million weekly views. Netflix’s chart establishes the numbers and ranking; it does not explain what drove the increase or announce a second season. The figures therefore support a strong second-week performance, but not a claim about future renewal or long-term popularity.
