Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G Debuts in China With Budget Focus

The Xiaomi redmi 17 5g has officially reached the Chinese market, according to a current report from Spanish newspaper El País’s technology publication Cinco Días. The report dated August 6, 2026 describes the phone as an entry-level Xiaomi smartphone with 5G connectivity and says a broader global launch is expected to progress separately.

The phone is reported to use a 6.9-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch-sampling rate. Cinco Días also lists a Unisoc T8300 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The report says the device runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 software.

For power, the same report lists a 6,300mAh battery, 15W wired charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging. It also records a 3.5mm headphone jack, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Cinco Días says the Xiaomi redmi 17 5g is available in China in three colour options. The listed official prices are 999 yuan for the 4GB plus 128GB version and 1,199 yuan for the 6GB plus 128GB version. Those prices and configurations are the China-market details reported by the publication.

Vodafone Ireland’s published upgrade terms also name the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G as a 128GB handset in an offer running through September 30, 2026. That document confirms the model’s inclusion in a carrier offer, but it does not establish identical pricing or specifications for every market.

The available reporting supports the phone’s Chinese launch and the listed hardware details. Global availability, market-specific pricing and any regional changes should be checked when Xiaomi or local operators announce them for each country.
