Woolworths will close its standalone Bunch program on October 27 and move customer ratings and reviews to the supermarket’s website and app. The change shifts product feedback closer to the retailer’s online store, while ending the free samples that helped attract members.

Bunch was a members-only platform for Woolworths-branded products. Members could review items, share recipes and exchange tips in forums. The program also offered free grocery samples in return for reviews and had a waiting list, according to reports by Nine.com.au and News.com.au.
The retailer says existing Bunch reviews will remain available through Woolworths’ own digital channels. A Woolworths spokesperson told both outlets that ratings and reviews would move to the website and app, with feedback displayed where customers shop. News.com.au reported that reviews would appear under members’ usernames.
That places the transition within the retailer’s shopping experience rather than a separate community site. Woolworths described the move as a way to put customer feedback closer to product pages and checkout. The company said the reviews could then reach shoppers as they build their baskets.
The closure date gives members a defined transition point, but the free-sample change has already begun. News.com.au reported that Bunch members were no longer receiving the grocery samples, while Nine.com.au said customers would not receive the free products after the program ends. Neither report described a replacement sampling service.
Woolworths also told Nine.com.au that the Everyday Rewards loyalty program would not change. The company said existing Bunch members would receive special offers through their rewards accounts as a goodwill gesture. The reports did not describe this as a continuation of the sample program.
The switch leaves the central benefit of Bunch—customer reviews—inside Woolworths’ own shopping channels, but ends the platform’s separate forums, recipe-sharing and sample activity. The retailer’s public explanation focuses on making feedback easier to find while customers shop. It does not promise that the transition will change how many reviews customers write or how they affect purchasing decisions.
For members, the practical points are straightforward: Bunch closes October 27, reviews are moving to Woolworths’ website and app, and free samples are ending. Everyday Rewards remains in place. Woolworths has not provided further transition details in the reports, so members should rely on notices from the company for any account-specific instructions.
